I've asked this before but I'm curious if it's changed. I'm 31 weeks and little June Bug will be here soon. Has anyone had Velamentous Cord Insertion? I'm trying to hear birth stories to be prepared but I haven't heard any with VCI. I'm getting a little nervous about it. I want June Bug to be safe and there are so many possibilities for complications.

A normal umbilical cord is covered in a protective jelly all the way into the placenta. My umbilical cord is not so it is exposed veins that go into the placenta like shallow tree roots. The jelly makes it so there is no constriction on the blood flow. I run the risk of having blood flow cut off from the placenta.
