Feel like a failure had to give little one a bottle. Was so determined to breastfeed but i have massive nipples and its so hard to get a good latch. Now i have blisters. Will still keep trying till my milk comes in then i can pump.

@abbiegale, never feel like a failure.. breastfeeding isnt for everyone unfortunately.. at the end of the day your doing what is best for ur child and thats what matters.. i had to give up breastfeeding as i wasnt producing enough milk.. be proud that you have given it a go, but maybe speak to ur midwife if you want to keep trying xx

Breast isn't best, fed is best :)

when i struggled with breastfeeding my hv said "happy mum = happy baby". as soon as i swapped to formula i felt so much relief. the pressure had lifted and you do feel like a failure, i understand, because you think every woman should be able to do it. if you want to try again, then good on you. don't be downhearted hun. you are feeding your baby. doesn't matter if its breast or bottle as long as they are fed and happy and tou are happy xxx

I agree with @charliebrown89 I was struggling so much with breastfeeding and I felt exactly the same changing to formula, but I honestly think having a happy mum is the best thing for your baby. it also means other people can feed her while you have a nap which has become invaluable to me!!

@abbiegale, I don't think bottle feeding is being a failure! I bottle fed both my kids and I certainly didn't fail! They are both thriving, healthy and happy children!!
