I need help/advice im a single mom and currently dont have a permanent residence, I dont work…

Just a question why not get a job, so that your able to get assistance. (Just in case you didn't see Donald Trump is about to be president) it's going to be hard to get assists without doing anything. Once you work you can still get free child care and food stamps to help with food. As long as your working the state service center can help you get public transportation to and from work with free bus fare. My sister lived in Virginia for about five years and I have family from there. But as a social worker they are really cracking down on just giving out handouts.

Also their are many shelters for women in VA that can help you with daycare and shelter as long as your working. They will help you save and double what we you save to help you get a place. Theirs is also public housing and low income housing but it still will require you to work. You best start is a shelter to save at least 500.00 to get a starter car and go from there.

im not expecting a handout but I am homeless..I cant continue to bounce around from my brothers and sisters, ive already overstayed my welcome..I cant have no where to live and get a job I can't get a job and not know where ill end up next @nwhite0823 ..like I said im a single mom and I dont get help from anyone with my daughter, theres just so much I have to build up from and I have no idea how im going to do it without any kind of help

Go to www.affordablehousing.org and look for something in your area it's section 8 and public housing.

Why don't you ask your brother or sister if you can use their address as your permanent address for job applications. That way you can get a job and start saving for a place of your own. In regards to living in a shelter, that will just be temporary for you and it will put a roof over your daughters head.

I think section 8 is closed and the list is years long @belizeanbeautyy at least thats what I heard..I really want.to make the effort.to better our lifes but I need a stable place to live

I could use their addresses but I just realy dont want to go to a shelter..I just feel like its so unfair to my daughter @hemi

You can apply anywhere in the U.S if having a better life for you and your daughter is important I think you should make an effort to apply, depending on the area they can place you quicker then you know it, at least have an application in so that when that time comes you won't have to wait. Don't procrastinate and make excuses because u have to start somewhere, and when u look back you'll be happy because you made a great decision.

It's a process but it will be worth it.

right I know there has to be some kind of availability out there, I already had planned.to put my daughter into daycare but doesnt change that I have no stability I need to find somewhere my brother and sister have both made it clear I can't live with either of them so ive been on eggshells these last couple weeks @belizeanbeautyy
