@chloedavenport Breast fed babies dont burp that much because they don't get a lot of air In while feeding:) I rarely burped my girl (after a few weeks) but by a month old she could bring them up herself xx she also hiccuped a lot xx

My son was the same for the first few weeks. I fed him slightly sat up right rather than flat but he'd still get hiccups every time. I also tried winding him a couple times during a feed. I had to cuddle him whilst walking around until they went. He did grow out of it though so maybe they just need time.

Babies getting hiccups is normal and healthy sign! Docs told us it's because their lungs are growing. It doesn't really bother them to have it. Seems more harsh to us as their entire body shakes and also they tell you burping isn't necessary for a newborn but always try and if it doesn't come then don't stress. There's this technique also of sitting them upright on your leg and rolling them side to side or in circles, it causes their abs to engage and push out any wind. Always does the trick for me. There's a video of it on YouTube
