Hey mamas! I need some advice for breast feeding. I tend to write down notes before baby comes so If I do panic I have a reference already down on paper. With my son I was unable to really nurse. He didn't latch on properly at all, was hardly getting any milk. One of my nipples I believe is inverted and made things harder. I ended io pumping and giving it to him in a bottle. that only lasted a few months because by the time he was a month old he was gauzling down 4 oz every 3 hours and I wasn't making that much. This baby I really wanna try nursing again, but I'm not sure how tot fix all the problems I had before. And the lactation people didn't help for shit here. Any advice from mamas that have had a hard time the first go around?

This is my first baby and we have been successful since day one however I did lots of reading before hand. I would say so of the tips I received and did must have worked bc we have been so successful. First I was doing nipple stimulation for 10-20 min at a time for weeks b4 he was due hand expressing colostrum even when I hardly had nothing also He was eating within 30 min of his birth. No pacifier until one month, no bottle and I have yet to pump and he is almost 3m. I have had some engorgment but handled it by a heat pad and deep tissue massage and constantly nursing also I did have one painful day I actually layed baby down and hovered over him to let gravity help the milk come down it worked wonders. And lastly a really good nipple cream (I use medela and honest co) but about to try earth mama and use it everytime also a boppy. Also change ur pads often they can get an odor if not. As for latch I would check his bottom lip I would have to break seal and re latch if he wasn't on good. The worst thing u can do is let the baby eat with a bad latch or if it painful for u and lastly join the la leche fb group they r awesome
