So I was verbally attacked for the second time today for breastfeeding my son in public. (If you can call it that). This time I had pulled over into a parking lot and turned my car off, then crawled into the back seat of my car and got my son out of his car seat to feed him since he had started screaming while I was driving(I was still about 30 mins from home so I wasnt going to keep driving when he was hungry) Anyways...I was sitting there nursing him and this woman pulls up beside my car. Keep in mind I purposely parked away from other cars and there was at least 3 open spots on either side of my car. And this woman pulls up right next to me. So she gets out of her car and goes about grabbing bags out of her back seat. I look away and go back to scrolling through facebook while my son feeds. Then I hear a tap on the window so I look up. And this lady starts yelling about how im in a public space and how children might see. She tells me to stop and go feed him in a bathroom or go home. I dont respond to her rudeness so she starts banging on my window harder and threatening to call the police and tell them that im exposing myself in front of everyone in the parking lot. I was wearing my nursing cover. The only way she knew i was breastfeeding is because my sons feet could be seen poking out from under it. After i ignored her a second time she started calling me a slut and a whore, a homewrecker and a filthy excuse for a woman. And then she said I was going to hell. She carried on and when I still didnt respond to her she eventually stormed off. The nerve of some people I swear. I was wearing a cover for gods sake, its not like I was just sitting there with my tits hanging out You couldnt even see my stomach at all because this nursing cover is seriously huge. I'm still not discouraged just irritated at how people feel the need to sexualize a woman feeding her child.

Omg that's crazy ur n ur car she need to worry about her not u. It's so sad to me what's wrong with America is they sexualize a women's body to be a pleasurable thing when in reality God made women to reproduce and bare children. I would always look at myself as one of those women before pregancy and now it discuss me to even think of women like that I imagine I will be pregnant and fat and have many kids bc now I truly know God meant for me to be a mom. We have not been out to much with baby but we did go to toys r us I flipped my boob out no cover nothing my husband was bothered I don't see a problem obviously I think it depends on where ur at but ultimately it should be ok anywhere. Like baby and kids stores cafes ok, twin peaks and Home Depot no. I told my husband this and he thought I was crazy but am I or don't I have a good point.

Whaaaatttt I have breast fed in my car hundreds of times and right in front of stores (no cover) I don't even look for a secluded spot. I feel like you saw the one nutcase out of hundreds of people lol. Just your luck. Man better lock your car doors I guess

Breastfeeding is protected in basically every state, they all have varying laws but look up your state's laws and make sure you know them! You are protected! Don't let anyone make you feel bad for doing what's best for your baby! You did great momma!

This is the second time something like this has happened to me within a month. The last time was in an ER waiting room and the man kicked my diaper bag across the room and nearly physically assaulted me as well. If it wasnt for security being called this man probably would have assaulted me if i continued to breastfeed like i planed to. I was wearing a cover that time too but it doesnt seem to matter to these crazy people. @mamahoude

@rari, that's crazy!! And terrifying . I live in Maine so nowhere near cities I wonder if that's the difference. Less nutcases?? So sorry that's happened to you 😩
