nope! :) I didn't start bottles for a few weeks into breastfeeding you can just store the milk in the freezer you don't have to use it right away.

You can pump as soon as your milk comes in, and then freeze it, when you are ready to start bottle feeding you'll already have all the frozen pumped milk ready to go 😊 otherwise your boobs are going to feel engorged all the time

@ssdj4, I personally wouldn't pump while in the hospital, just because your milk will take longer to come in that way, nursing straight on the boob will make the milk come in faster so the baby will be getting enough. And you might not get very much milk when you start pumping just FYI don't get scared or think your baby isn't getting enough when he is nursing if you only pump a little because nursing ultimately is more effective than pumping

I don't have any experience with c sections, but if you tell them you plan to breastfeed the hospital should have a lactation consultant come to your room and help you and answer any questions, maybe look into what programs your hospital offers, mine personally offers a breastfeeding 101 class and it helps a lot, its like 2-3 hours long and they go into every detail of BF
