So on my previous post, a woman commented and I got a small sense of mom shaming from her because I said that I trusted my mother to babysit my son for 4 hours and was unaware that she had started smoking in her apartment again but knew she didn't smoke around the kids. First off, I'd never intentionally put my son in harms way, I never even leave him with a family member except for school and work, being that I am a single mother I am 2 parents and 2 providers at the moment, so I have a lot of responsibility. My mom has probably watched him 5 times in his entire life, because she isn't my first choice and she works a lot anyway. But the fact that this woman basically said "I would never do that, and the fact that you did is crazy. I am super protective of my child.. etc." implying that I'm not? Sweetheart, just because you want to pretend that you're perfect doesn't mean the rest of us do. I am well aware of my imperfections and that's what makes me a mother, I am learning as I go. Everyone else seems to think I'm doing a damn good job of it, so please excuse yourself! 🙃
