Anti-Vax mommies, I could use your advice. I currently have a pediatrician that knows we arent planning to vaccinate. We declined the Hep B shot when he was first born, and declined his newborn shots at his check up. we've had 3 appointments with this pediatrician so far (tomorrow will make four) and I'm and it's always an unpleasant visit. He's never been sick, he's growing and developing normally, and is even in the 90th percentile for height and weight. But this doctor is always trying to push vaccinations on us. Every time we go she asks "so, are we getting some vaccines done today?" or she'll say "remember their is a lot of misinformation out there" when we decline. We've told her since before he was even born that we were not interested in having him vaccinated at all, if she had a problem or was not in agreement she could have declined us as patients but she didn't. And now I'm dreading every single appointment. My question is: Should I look for a new pediatrician who respects our decision or should I be more firm with this doctor and let her know that I dont appreciate her continuing to push vaccines on us when we've told her many times that we arent on board with them? She's a great and thorough doctor otherwise, but I shouldn't dread taking my child to the doctor. I just don't know if I'm jumping the gun too soon.

We plan on homeschooling and I stay at home so no daycare necessary, but thanks! @bianca_rose and my husband and I already signed a decline form stating that we are refusing vaccines and that we understand if he gets sick they aren't responsible so I don't understand why they would need to keep bringing it up. @klp16

I believe it is a legal reqirement for them to at least bring it up, because then when you decline them and if your child gets sick, you camt sue the doctor for not recommending them.

Our pedi practice has 8 dr's, I've seen all of them trying to not go through it and they were all the same. I actually got into a mini argument with the only male dr in the practice about it. Just stand strong in your decision and don't let anyone make you feel stupid for it. If you need the exemption form for daycare/school let me know, I'll send you the link

My husband said the same thing, that we probably wouldn't find a doctor who wouldn't do this. It's just annoying and she kept talking to me like I was stupid and I think it's because I'm a younger mom. She kept talking down to me like I was 10. She got snappy with me because he his one month check up was closer to when he was 2 months. When I told her that I'd been trying to get him in for 3 weeks but I was told that was the earliest they could fit me in, she basically called me a liar. Like why would I lie about that? Ugh

My kids aren't vaccinated, my oldest is 8. They literally didn't stop doing what your doc is doing until his 6 yr visit. I don't know if you'll find a dr that won't do this, if you think you can, go for it. After a while you won't even care anymore about them pushing it, those first visits are horrible though. The good thing is after those initial visits, you'll only see them once a yr for his physical, unless he needs a sick visit. With this baby they haven't questioned me though, guess they finally gave up lol
