RELATIONSHIP AFTER BABY

Now obviously this doesn't apply to everybody... Actually, well it does. People who say they've not had any strain on their relationship after carrying a baby and then giving birth to it is bullshitting.

So much happens when a baby arrives and things can seem so intense. The sleepless nights can cause friction and tension... Which lets be frank... You don't want just after giving birth? Also big changes have to occur and most men don't like change.

"This has to be moved here, that has to be moved there..."

"You're doing it wrong, do it this way..."

"You've put the nappy on back to front."

"You haven't washed the bottle properly."

"Why the fuck did you give a dummy?!"

We are so up and down with our hormones after giving birth that literally the smallest thing can trigger off either a soppy mess crying and blubbering over a stupid advert or something on TV, a paranoid psycho bitch like I was 🙋🏻 (not ashamed to admit it either) or just a plain angry woman with no idea why she's angry.

Being any of these things cause shit. But the problem is that men don't understand what we're going through because they don't have these hormones that we do... They've not just pushed a baby out of a very small space, they've not endured 9 long months of pain and uncomfortable sleep or even lack of sleep.

If men knew the suffering we go through during pregnancy, giving birth and after birth I think they'd be very careful with how they choose their words and the way they even say those words.

The worst thing is when one of you want to do something one way, and the other a different way. That's the only problem me and Kurt have had since having Harry. I try to discipline and Kurt would let Harry get away with murder...

When baby is here, most important is routine. Once that's in place, there's no need for bickering and arguing. The best advice I can give is let it ride out naturally, you're gonna disagree on stuff but it doesn't mean to say you've gotta have a huge barney. Just exchange words, explain reasons and get on with it.

Having a baby is a big big thing and does change a relationship a lot. It's upto you whether you're gonna let that improve and strengthen or worsen it.

One thing I can tell you for definite though, is that when you watch your partner loving your child... You fall 100x more in love with them than you already were.
