Can you have a meal before being induced? My induction is at 7.30 am on sunday and I always eat…

I was asked if I had eaten anything during labour...because they had to perform a quick forcep delivery and if that didnt work...I would've needed a csection... They like your stomach to be empty for Csections...the drugs or whatever can make you throw up....Inductions can end in Csections if they don't progress ..so maybe just snack? xx

Thats what i was worried about to! Do you think a bowl of coco pops will be okay or like a small sandwich? @winterbaby95 xxx

@abbiegale They did offer me a sandwich before the problem with my daughter was discovered...but I refused...I honestly didnt feel like eating hun...I just drank water and the midwives gave me orange and pineapple Juice to boost my energy xx Maybe eat a good meal the night before? xxxx

Okay thank you! Iv had at least 11-12 ops altogether so i do get abit nervous because I don't really like being in hospital. Im praying everything goes well feeling very nervous now @winterbaby95 xxx

@abbiegale Take some lucozade and some nuts (provide lots of energy) eat a good dinner the night before :) Oh yeah...I was set to be induced the next day at 7am...because my waters had broken...and I wasn't having regular contractions...they never mentioned anything about food to me...I did go into active labour by myself so induction wasnt necessary:) but its quite early and inductions can take hours...so maybe ask if you can eat something when you arrive? Have your morning Coffee and some toast? then when you get to the hospital you could have something more substantial:) Really depends on how you feel when your labour starts...because I seriously didnt feel like eating...it was the last thing on my mind xxx

Okay, i think toast is always the safest option, and a nice healthy dinner the night before! I doubt il be into eating Anyway, i only have breakfast and dinner anyway. I wasn't allowed to eat but that's cos I was being induced due to gestational diabetes, and they said I could only have water, as they were monitoring my blood sugars, and if they kept going up, I would have to be put on a glucose drip during the labour. so could only have water x
