Has anyone in your immediate family got diabetes? I had to have it as my mum is Type 1 diabetes xx

Is your BMI high like @charlotteandharry said does anyone in your family have diabetes? Basically they are testing to see if you have it...and if so...you will need to make diet changes...with GD...babies tend to be on the larger side xxx

I had high BMI....but my midwife monitored my blood sugar levels every appointment by taking blood....instead of making me have the GD test xx

@winterbaby95, yeah my BMI it is.. the baby was measuring just over 36 weeks when I was dead on 33 weeks.. if I do have GD will it affect anything todo with my labour? Xxx @charlotteandharry

I was told that people with gestational diabetes tend to birth bigger babies, my mum was told to stop after her first but made the decision to have a second. And my sister was 9lb 10oz! xx

@lucxo No hun...but if you do have a big baby...there's chances of them getting stuck in the pelvis etc....My mums biggest was 10lbs 9oz's! And she didn't have GD :) just made big babies :) Maya was 8lbs 4oz's 6 days early :) She measured 2-3 ahead xxx

@lucxo If baby seems to be large...then yeah..an induction might be discussed...but I wouldn't worry hun :) When I had a growth scan at 35+6 Maya's estimated weight was 7lbs 9oz's and they were happy to let me go whenever it happened xx

If you're producing a huge baby and midwives etc don't think you'll be able to have a natural birth you might have to C-Section xx

I had gestional diabetes found that out at 32 weeks pregnant but when i was tested at 28 weeks i didnt have it then so i had to be put on medication and had to have my baby at 38 weeks. most cases they induce u at 38 weeks .

@sara87, why do you have to be induced incase there's complications isit? Xx
