My son was 6 weeks early. Now 4 months old.. He's been in a co sleeper in our bed since the start. He takes naps in his crib and we did the same thing as @babynessa mentioned. we moved it to the highest setting and added another mattress. I'm only 5'1 so it had to happen. I recommend co sleeping inside the bed if you are planning on bf.

My sister had the same problem she bought an extra mattress and put it in the crib. She also used a bassinet that way she could have the baby next to here at night while she was healing from a c-section and she would roll it to the living room during the day.
