My in laws kept baby girl today, for the first
time, while my fiancé and I worked all day. They have kept her for a couple of hours before but always at my house.. today they took her out all day (shopping, out to eat, watching football games, etc.) I typically wouldn't mind, but I called on my break to check on her and they "left their phones in the car to charge". I freaked!! I was already worried but not being able to get hold of them when I call made it 10x worse.. it really makes me want to tell them that they can't keep her anymore, but I don't want to "be the bad guy" by keeping Ella away from them.. am I over reacting?? How do I express my concerns and wishes without causing a huge argument?? I guess I should mention that I'm already not their favorite because of the choices I've made so there's that...
I would ask them to at least have their phones on them so you can call to check on her while at work. Remember that it's been a while since grandparents have been parents to a baby so you have to express yourself she's your baby.
@martinajjones, that's definitely how I feel. Just check in and all is fine. I just wasn't sure if it was just me being overly crazy cause she is my first or if that's a legit concern/request.
Then I would tell her if they want to spend another day with your baby then they would do as you say. @jwalkn4 she really should have checked in
We asked her that tonight after it happened and she pulled the "I didn't do anything wrong, it's not a big deal" speech. She is mad because we got mad she wasn't answering.. @martinajjones
Oh I said something, my fiancé backed me up, but they decided I was being too dramatic.. either way, she ALWAYS answers the phone now while she has BG.
