When do babies go through their first growth spurt?

They say after 24 weeks baby starts growing rapidly

@haleymdh, is that for a baby in the womb or a newborn?

In the womb. Outside the womb is usually about 8 weeks but depends on the child

I was told the rule of threes for a newborn. 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 9 weeks are all major growth spurts but really the first three months is all one huge growth spurt.
