I'm getting so freaked out about labor and getting the epidural 😢😔😥
Well that's awesome! And it makes me feel better to hear that too!! @mommychina_
@babymfoley, yeah I never had to watch a video prior to getting it or when I was getting it so they were being extra anyway. my baby is breastfed and still going so it was no issue with her being to drowsy from epidural to breastfeed. I breastfed straight out of a CSection.
The hospital that I delivered at doesn't do epidurals anymore. So that was one thing i didn't have to worry about. I got fentanyl thru my IV
I had contractions at home from 3am-10am went to the hospital & I was dilated 6cm but I was stuck at 7cm for a long time . They gave me pitocin 😳 worse thing ever ( in my experience) it made my contractions more intense & so close together . I had my daughter at 4:42 . So about 13 hours
I didn't feel anything when getting my epidural and I got 2. Nothing compared to the contraction pain
I was as well.. I was expecting it to really hurt..especially thinking about a needle in your spine. I was just focused on my breathing and felt nothing. I thought labor was going to be longer since it was my first
I know I will end up getting the epidural but I am terrified. I hope I'm not in labor forever but don't we all? Lol @allietuge
I was terrified of labor and the epidural... neither was as bad as I thought. The contractions were definitely the worst part... I barely felt the epidural. I labored for 7 hours
I had to go to the hospital today to sign a release form if I wanted the option of getting one and they made me watch a video first. It said I could have issues with my back and baby may be drowsy and not want to breastfeed. The anesthesiologist had such a dry personality and made it seem even worse. I'm probably just freaking out. @mommychina_
Yeah, I expect to be in labor for a while but I'm scared of the side effects from the epidural more than anything @mommychina_
this is your first baby you can labor for quite awhile. the epidural will be heaven to you when labor comes so don't be scared it's just a sting for the initial numbing medicine and you won't feel anything else after.
I would love to skip the epidural but I don't want to set unrealistic expectations for myself. But I really don't want to get it!! How long were you in labor? @amestkeyah90
Its not that bad with an epidural, when they do the last part its kind of something unexpecting in my opinion. I sorta jumped when it happened but it wasnt really anything to me.
