How do you know the difference between Braxton Hicks and real labour contractions? most people say "you just know" but as far as I'm aware I've not had any Braxton Hicks so I wouldn't "just know" but I've been getting a horrible period type pain on and off for about half an hour or so. It will stay for about 5 minutes or so then come back ten minutes later....I know I'm probably being paranoid but with only 3 weeks and 3 days to go I'm a bit more on edge about any pain just incase he's trying to come early 😂

@littleelf85, I've always got back pain as I've got chronic pain so it's no different to that and I'm a bigger girl so not sure if I'd even notice my stomach going hard haha...might time it and see what it looks like, just wanted to know if anyone had any definite signs or advice haha xxx

@stephyb95, i was exactly the same before i had my little man and when ppl would say "ul know" i never believed them but in all honesty you do know.. ur brain seems to know lol if that makes sense xx

Braxton Hicks will stop after a while where as labour contractions will become more regular and intense. It is hard to tell sometimes especially as you can be in pre labour for days even a week or so. However it would be continuous. Braxton Hicks will stop after an hour or so.

They'll become intense and it won't stop they'll continue and nothing you do changing to any position for example will help. Midwives make me laugh when they say take paracetamol for the pain, believe me you'll know the difference. I was in ore labour for almost a week it was horrendous day and night I had contractions by the time I was to have my baby I was so exhausted. Braxton Hicks will stop for a while perhaps for an hour or so Xxx

I didn't have braxton hicks but once I was in labour I knew about it😂😂 x
