So I'm definitely not trying to potty train now, as my son is only 7 months old. He's starting to walk, so I'm trying to think ahead. What age do you all think it's best to start potty training? I've read 2 years old, but I personally feel that's a little late. Only because in order to go to preschool, you have to be potty trained at 2. I've read that if you start too soon, it could be more frustrating. What cues did your child give you to know it was time to start? Thanks! 😊

I started my oldest when he was 2, and he wasn't fully potty trained till 3. My middle is just about 2 1/2 we're gonna start soon. Personally it's what you feel is comfortable for you. Every parent potty trains at a different age.

@kreese88, thanks! Just seeing what some parents experiences were. My sister didn't start until my nephew was 2 1/2 and she's having a very hard time 😕

All kids are different to, you never know he might take to it right away

@3.26.16 was he verbal at a year old? How did you know when he had to go, like when you were out? I may be thinking its harder than it really is. Lol

yes my son could talk real well. still at 3 he has a very good vocabulary. people dont believe me when i tell them hes only 3. but yea you're probably just over thinking it. i constantly use to ask. him did he have to pee or just constantly took him on my own. idk it was easy for me

honestly it's up to the child and when they're ready. the signs you look for are they don't wanna wear their diaper anymore.

I was babysitting a 2 year old she was fully potty trained , night time and all but my step daughter will be 4 in august n it's still hard with her so it depends on the child & maybe the patience level of the parent
