I had 2nd degree tearing, a tore urethra & I have a dividing wall in my vagina that my baby ripped through. it's bad that first week, keep ur witch hazel pads down there & try not to do ANYTHING but take care of the baby. it will heal faster. I tried doing to much at first & mine hurt so bad I couldn't take it. I took Percocets the two nights I stayed in the hospital but he only gave me Tylenol 3s when I went home & it didn't help. use ur dermoplast too. my main recommendation is just rest as much as u can & keep a fresh witch hazel pad thing in ur pad all the time. if it starts to hurt when u pee (mine did after about 4 or 5 days home) squirt urself with the squirt bottle they give u when u pee. it helps a bit. I didn't poop until my stitches had already dissolved a week in a half later so it wasn't so bad, but it can b painful when u poop the first time after delivery so take ur stool softeners. mine didn't get completely better for a month but only because of the dividing wall in my vagina. I'm sure you'll get to feeling better in a week or less🙏

@heatherlg88, I'm sorry that happened. I feel like a huge baby complaining now. The doctor had to cut me to get the baby out, thank you soooo much. I was not using the witch hazel pads but I will if it helps. Do I just put one on the pad about where it would hit the stitch. I am still using the ice cold pad. I am using the spray and will ask for another one. They are sending me home with a donut thing I can sit with and some more of the cold pads. I was able to get a prescription for Percocets and 800 Motrin. So I will have to make it last. I just told the nurse this morning that it was starting to burn when I pee. lol

yeah, put it on the pad where the stitch is. my OB didn't cut me, I just tore on my own. guess I should have been walking & doing kegals. lol that burning when peeing was the worse for me. I even sometimes would sit in the bath tub with a little water in it to pee, so it wouldn't hurt so bad. I also did a lot of hot water soaks. it helped with the pain after that first week.

I don't mind at all. lol it's no big deal, everyone feels pain differently. no matter the severity it all hurts when it comes to childbirth. lol

@heatherlg88, so right now as we speak it hurts so bad I want to cry. I have to stand and walk with my legs a little spread apart like it is sensitive to the touch. How would I know if it is infected? How long should I expect this to go on? I know sometime things get worse before they can get better is that the same here. Sorry so many questions. I just want to be able to bend and sit without a donut thing. I did have to take the baby to the dr today. I did not drive, but just sitting in the car killed me. I wonder if I irritated it.
