I don't understand sweeps? Does everyone get them or what's the reason why people have them before…

I had one at 39+1 because I was in labour and my waters had broken...they was a long queue for inductions....So they gave me a sweep in hope that I would start by myself...which I did :) 1cm-8cms within an hour! xxx

They offer them after your due date in help with starting something :) people take the offer up because they don't want to be induced xx

I had one with my firstborn at 37+2 as my waters had broken.... had sweep bout 4pm was in advanced labour at 12 and had him at 4am.... xx

Yeah they offer it for many reasons but as @winterbaby95 said they offer and people take because they dont want to be induced xx

I am having one today as I have too much amniotic fluid and the dont want me to go past my due date too much. I am hoping it will start things off xx

Im having one next monday when im 38 weeks because iv had problems with my hips for a long time and now i have spd quite badly, if sweep is unsuccessful then i have to have an induction for 39 weeks xx

@abbiegale, my hips are so bad too! My midwife is useless though she is so abrupt and rushes everything and when I explain to her how much pain I'm in to walk or to even lie down she just shrugs her shoulders and says that's pregnancy 🙄 xx

Iv had a problem with my hips for 10 years so they pre booked a plan when i was 18 weeks for 36 weeks. I would ask for a different midwife if you feel like its that bad, you don't want to suffer hips pain is one of the worst i think xxx
