3 questions. Do you feel the epidural needle when they put it in?Does it hurt?

They numb you before sticking the needle in. You probably wouldn't tell if your water broke in the bath or shower. But if you think it did just put a pad on if it gets soaked then it was most likely your water. And yes contractions hurt. It's probably the worse pain you'll ever feel. Feels like cramps but a million times more painful.

I didn't. Feel anything i guess I was just so scared cause i had a c-section.

Thanks ladies!I never had period cramps, I don't get them for some reason, but I've had cramps from running after eating lol so maybe it's similar.@babynessa @sweetness208 @bellaluis1992

You feel a pinch like any other needle, and depending on YOUR body you may feel pressure when having contractions. It's not that bad though, then AGIAN you may feel nothing. I had three different experience on the epidural, but my fourth was natural.

@roxell, I didn't get epidural so I don't know but as for the contractions I don't use period cramps as a comparison. Trust me u will just know for me they were consistent and instant meaning of u get pain like u never felt before and it comes back in 5 mins ur starting labor. For me I had the shakes and sweat so bad with the first 2 contractions I just knew. They were like 5 mins apart as well. As for the water breaking if it's n shower I still think u will know. The water is very warm to me it felt good bc I was in pain and the feel of warmth was relieving. Get ready for a ton of water like gallons the longer ur labor is more water at least for me ur body and baby will keep producing I kept telling my husband dang how much water was in me.
