i would really appreciate some advice....my newborn son is just 3 days old and he keeps making a clicking sound while he sleeps he goes from that to making no sound at all...it scares the hell out of me..is this a normal sound newborns make?i dont want to be worried for no reason,im a first time mom and at the hospital my son kept waking up out of his sleep choking and i would pick him up and pat his back and ask the nurses if he was ok but the nurses said that was normal...it didnt seem normal to me but if im worried for no reason again id like to know.so please give me advice about this and let me know if your newborn or child has done this too so i know hes not the only one or so i know to take him to the doctor.

my son makes all types of noise in his sleep I just check frequently to see how his breathing is but if your worried talk to a pediatrician just for peace of mind

it's normal for them to make noises & at times they stop breathing because they're brain still hasn't realized they need to breathe now (since they didn't have to really breathe inside of us). He'll grow of it eventually but their O2 levels can get really low & then they're brain is like "oh, I need oxygen!" and they start back breathing. It's usually just for a few seconds at a time that they stop but that's also why they choke in their sleep & make weird noises at times. If the nurses aren't worried, then don't worry. They probably just didn't explain why he's doing it to you. 😊

My friend said her son made a click noise while eating also and it's because baby didn't have enough nipple in his mouth so his tongue was clicking on the roof of his mouth. Try to get more nipple in his mouth or if you're using a bottle try a different one

And choking is normal, my son did a lot because of the fluid from being in the womb

Its normal for newborns to make noises in the middle of the night. My daughter always coughed like she was choking but wasn't.

Thankyou everyone for the info...it makes me feel a little better knowing that its normal for them to make that noise,it just really worried me.
