So while waiting in line at a gas station I overheard a homeless man asking a man coming in did he have any change...the man said no, then the homeless man asked for some water...the man tells him he doesn't have a fountain. He was so unbelievably rude for no reason. It broke my heart. I bought what I had to buy then walked to my car..asked the man did he say he wanted water..have him my last 2 bottled waters. He thanked me and told me I was beautiful. As i started to leave I sat in my car for a second before pulling a $5 out my pocket. I walked up to the man again && as I handed it to him I said it's yours but if you can do me a favor in return && make sure you buy yourself something to eat instead of cigarettes or whatever else he could get. It's not for me to judge him on what he chooses to spend it on. No matter what decisions he's made that led him to outside that store is on him but just bc somebody is worse off doesn't mean treat them even worse. Smh I never give to homeless bc I feel not all are legit or sincere but today this man tugged at my heart && I couldn't be more proud of myself that I could have possibly saved his life for another day or so and that I made him happy for a moment in his reality.
