When he poops....rinse his butt in water rather than wiping. When he naps, if he doesn't move around too much.....put down a waterproof pad and drape him with a cover while his butt airs out for a while. Try a different cream like Boudreaux Butt Paste which is really great.

Awww ok well definitely rinse instead of wipe. Just warm water no soap. And try a different brand of cream. If you can't get any tonight just do the butt rinsing and keep using the desitin until tomorrow. Do you know why he has the runs? At the end of the day, curing the runs is going to be the best problem solver. Even with the best cream, if he's still pooping a storm.....it won't make much difference

@jozell01, I just went through the exact same thing ....try getting sensitive wiped without the scent and try to pat his butt when you change him instead of wiping we got some type of compound butt paste they use at the pharmacy for the rash and this cream called nystatin to put on top of it too so he wouldn't get a yeast infection. Our doctor has us do just pedialyte,apple sauce and bananas for 12-24 hrs no milk then we slowly gave him the milk but no juice until his bowel changed....the apple sauce and banana helped his bowel get back to normal

Do that and I promise your baby will feel better by the next day ...my baby rash was like a second degree burn because he kept using it so now it's like almost back to his natural color ....it's a virus going around

I'm going to try this . and he has got really sick after he had his flu shot and then they thought he had a new strain of pneumonia but then said or was a virus and can I use the nystatin he used for his yeast infection in his neck. I only use sensitive wipes on him so I am going to try rag and water .... thank you for your help @kylen_mommy

@jozell01, the nystatin should be for all year infections and no problem because I know I was freaking out with my son I tried wet paper towel and angel soft tissue

Use maximum strength butt paste. That is a lifesaver. My son use to get rashes all the time (turned out to be chemical burns from freaking diapers) but it did help a lot
