I feel like ive seen more mom shaming since the "Stop mom shaming" posts have been going around. Its like people are offended that theyre being asked not to shame people. Like what the hell. Didnt your parents ever tell you "If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all"? When did people stop teaching their kids proper manners. I was always taught that just because I have an opinion, it doesnt mean that everyone wants to hear it. I grew up being taught that unless someone asked for my opinion, to keep it to myself. Or, to first ask if i could share my opinion. And it wasnt because "oh no you could hurt someones feelings" It was because its the polite and respectful thing to do. If i know one thing fir sure, its that my son WILL be expected to respect people and be taught proper manners. He wont run around like kids do today, calling people names, disrespecting his elders and other peoples property. And I sure as hell am not teaching him that just because he has an opinion, that he needs to let everyone know about it. He will be taught that its good to have his own opinions on things. But to be polite about sharing said opinions. And that he needs to respect other peoples personal opinions whether he agrees with them or not. And never to shame others simply because of the way they choose to live. He will be taught that everyone deserves the respect that he himself feels he should be given. And that when he shows proper respect, he will get respect from others as well.
