My midwife told me I should start thinking about and purchasing a birthing ball today... any ideas…

I just got an exercise ball from Argos, £7odd and you get a pump with it too, no different to a birthing ball x

I got a gym ball from argos for £6.99 came with a pump. Used it in both pregnancies 🖒

@sara-lou, the prices are a hell of a lot better than I expected... for some reason I expected it to be millions of pounds.. like everything else specifically for maternity. 😑 xx

Haha. Same. When looked for gym balls there were a lot more cheaper options!

@sara-lou, aye that seems to be the case (having a quick look now). Everything to do with maternity just seems to be so damn expensive, like that are torturing us for being pregnant. 😂

mine was eBay 2.50 and came with pump lol it definitely helped and got things moving I think! was bouncing non stop for about an hour a day and Lil lady came one week early X she was back to back too and midwife told me to bounce while I was in labour and it helped to turn her x

@mimibear, see I didn't actually understand the term back to back until today when I was talking to my midwife, but after her explaining it all and why the balls are so good, I definitely need to get my sen one. xx

I didn't buy much maternity clothes for the same reason. I bought a nice dress and some leggings and work trousers but otherwise I just bought bigger sized tops from primemark lol

yeah definitely X back to back hurt like hell but was determined to get her moving lol and did it all with just two paracetamols! having a water birth helped with the pain, best decision I made! xx

@sara-lou, I've bought one pair of maternity jeans as they were on sale at asda otherwise just living in leggings or jeggings and bigger tops also from primarny. 😂 ah primark has it's uses. 😂 @mimibear I'm not allowed to have a water birth, but are they actually any good? I've heard so many different things. xx

if I have another one then I would have a water birth again. was such a nice feeling, having the water take the weight off everything. like I said did it with no pain relief 👍 once I was in the pool she was born and hour later X lovely experience x

@mimibear, see I heard they can stop contractions hence why I wouldn't want one... is that not true? xx

when I got in the pool I was 7cm and an hour later she was out Lol some cases it can slow contractions but I think they wait until your established etc X
