You could try cutting through it with a sarated knife but your probably going to have to just defrost the whole thing and use it up within the next few days.

@t623, i wanted to make dinner soon so I planned on defrosting it in the microwave, the small package won't fit that's my problem lol 😩

You can fill your sink with cool water and let it sit in there to defrost it, it takes longer than the microwave but it might be ready in time to use for dinner. Or just do that until it's soft enough to cut some off easily.

Unless you have a very sharp knife, I'm thinking you'll have to defrost the whole thing and save the rest. Or defrost it until its soft enough to cut

@irishtwinmomma, @t623 if I partially defrost it with cold water to cut it will the rest be safe to refreeze ?

I do it whenever I buy the big ones. I just wrap it up and put it back in the freezer

It might be okay if it doesn't get defrosted all the way.

if you can go ahead and precut what you know you'll use for dinner and store it in freezer bags that way it will already be done for you

we did that last month without thinking and hubby used a saw zaw to cut it up

What I do is fill up my sink with water. Then put the whole chunk of me in there and let it defrost. It takes less than an hour usually and just cut about a pound to cook and then put the rest back in the freezer or the fridge whatever you prefer
