went to the doctor today baby has dropped even more and I'm 1 1/2 cm dilated but if he doesn't come by next week they're going to induce me because of his size and I'll be 39 weeks. i really really really don't want to be induced. help mommas, what helped you guys naturally get labor started?

I've heard lots of walking, bouncing on an exercise ball, reflexology massage, eating pineapple or spicy foods, etc

you can always decline being induced and most doctors won't even consider induction until 40 weeks or 41 weeks.

@xalyssasays, I've never heard of reflexology massage what is that exactly? @reyesmomma I would but I'm also afraid of birthing a really nice baby more so than being induced, I trust my doctor's opinion fully. i would just rather not have to be induced ya know? they say it hurts and makes it take longer. my boy is fully developed and now just packing on more weight. which he already has plenty of! lol

@sawyersmomma I would never recommend anyone being induced unless there was a serious medical reason for doing so. My friend was induced and she was in the hospital for two days before she gave birth they had to induce her twice. It makes contractions much stronger and will need much more pain medication. I also hear that women tend to tear a lot worse when being induced. I've talked to my doctor a lot about how other doctors jump to inducing a lot of woman and she does not agree with it at all so I personally would never be induced unless I had a severe medical reason for doing so. But if you trust your doctor then do what you feel is best.

@xalyssasays, I may not know what it is but anything that has to do with a foot massage sounds AMAZING right now 😂 lol

@sawyersmomma, they can be wrong about the size by about +\- 2lbs. How big are they saying he will be? I wouldn't get induced because of size especially before 40 weeks. I'd wait. But it's definitely your choice and not the doctors or anyone elses.

@lumos.nox, yeah I've heard it go both ways but the thought of it making labor drag on is just ughh id rather not lol @babybue16 they're saying he is already about 7 1/2 pounds, he is estimating low he said, he could easily be more.

My boy was low and I was dilated at 2. I got induced at 6pm and was pushing by 7:30 the next morning. And didn't even need pitocin. Just cervidil. Not every induction is bad. If yours is low and you're dilated, it shouldn't be bad. Other than that, walk your butt off. I did, but it didn't help me.

They also said my boy was over 7 and half pounds and he came out 6 pounds 7 ounces.

@lumos.nox, @nicipicky thanks ladies! that definitely makes me feel better! yes he is super low and I've already started dilating, its good to know that that does shorten the process!

@sawyersmomma, 7 1/2 is a good size. I'm surprised they want to induce for that. I haven't had my midwife estimate size yet but I'm fully expecting mine to be at least 9lbs by 40 weeks. I know people who have had good experiences getting induced and some that have ended in c section because of it so the experience can really be different for everyone. I feel like it is very common/expected to get induced now. You just have to decide what you are comfortable with.
