Hate it when my dad tells me that I threw away all of my childhood/young adulthood and I'm missing out on so much. All because I chose to start a family by 20 years old. I know he means well and he's just trying to tell me that he wishes I would have waited. But this is his fault. He's the one who stopped coming home and chose another woman and her kids over me when he was a single father and I had nobody else but him. Now he wonders why I decided to marry off at 18, move to the other side of the country, and have a baby by 20 years old. I'm searching for stability dumbass. And just because I'm not out partying like his step daughters doesn't mean I'm missing out on anything. 🙄 rant over.

Man, that's tough😔 I had an unplanned pregnancy at 19, so I got married. I'm 20 now and my mom is still really bitter about it. She's a southern baptist so she's all about "reputation and abstinence" 🙄

@keepingupwithhj, that's the one thing nice he had to say was "at least you did it right" 😒 like thanks for acknowledging that like that's the most important thing in the world. I think if his new wife didn't have a 20 year old daughter, he wouldn't say anything because he wouldn't have anyone to compare me to. But would he honestly rather have me still dependent on them to pay my bills and sorority dues all so I can go drink and party underage at some frat house? Like I'm glad what she's doing seems so much more meaningful to you dad. 🙃

😂 you learn a lot more about your parents when you become one!

My parents say the same about me missing out on being a "kid" and whatnot. I got pregnant at 19 with my first. Unintended pregnancy, her dad was absent most of the time and they'd always say I should have given her to another family so I could have my life... but she is my life. My kids are and always will be my life. I'd much rather spend a night in, snuggling my kids and watching frozen for the 100th time than go out and get drunk with whoever, or go to concerts, or whatever. That was never me anyway. Sometimes priorities are different.

@babymaciesmomma, you're absolutely right. I always wanted to be a mom. That was always "my thing" and my dad always told me that it scared him how maternal I was because I never had siblings or a mom around to teach me that. He was always afraid I'd have children young. Well I graduated high school with honors. I went to college for veterinary medicine and the only reason I stopped was because the military moved us to Florida. I've been married for over a year now. And having a family of my own is the life I'd rather have. If I really wanted to drink underage I'd rather have a glass of wine in the bathtub AT HOME than go to a frat house on campus or a club. I'm just not interested in that.
