It's very hard to find similar minded mom friends where I live. I try not to let it bother me but some times it does. People roll their eyes or say mean things when they see me wearing my son or see him rear-facing still or see my breastfeeding car decal. I don't understand why. My son is only 1. Yes he is big (I'm 5'10 & dad is 6'3) but that doesn't mean he's no longer a baby! My son can't walk by himself without constantly falling (medical reasons), so to shop quickly I wear him. He rear-faces because that's what is recommended for safety. He still breastfeeds because that's our personal choice and the WHO recommends until 2. Maybe it's just where I live that's the problem. Idk.

girl, keep doing you and what's best for your son. people are so fukin stupid, everything is a problem to ignorant minds. if it wasn't one of those things you mention, people will find something else to stare at. as long as your son is safe and happy, brush them off. I hope that helped a little. :)

I feel you girl I still got my daughter rear facing and she's 21months.... but I'm waiting till close to 40lbs. I mean that's what recommended for safety... but my daughter is kinda short too so her legs aren't super squished...which is what most ppl use as the excuse as to why they turn them around in the first place. luckily I haven't gotten too much criticism that often but just try to ignore them. you are a GREAT mother don't forget that. you know what's best for your baby 😊😊

Thanks girls. I never claim I'm perfect or anything but as moms we are all trying our best. People don't even try to know me before mocking me. I've had guys take photos in front of my breastfeeding decal laughing at it. People call me "over protective" because I play with my son at the playground and try to prevent him from falling. They don't see how easily he bruises or come home with him at night and I can't even touch his legs without him screaming in pain. People say that my son will never be a "man". They've even called me crazy for his car seat. But he is still within guidelines to rear-face and he has a new car seat. Moms can never get a break. @aferg_1023 @mdomke22 @keepingupwithhj

It's definitely everywhere but I feel that some areas are more open to that stuff than others. I nursed until my son was 26 mos, people thought it was outrageous. I wore him when he was older and let him use a stroller until he was older too, I didn't care, while other parents were dealing with their kid having a tantrum because they didn't want to walk the mall anymore, mine was content in a stroller, it was easier for me. I don't vaccinate, mine don't eat candy, and the list goes on lol You have to have thick skin to be a parent sometimes, especially when you do things that aren't considered the "norm"
