Does your mucus plug have to come out or can you go into labor without it ever coming out?

no I was already 3cm dialted when I started loosing mines at the hospital.
I didn't lose mines till I was about 6cm dilated then I felt it running down me extra gross lol. They broke my water at 10 cm dilated . @belly1996
I never lost my plug. As a FTM going into labor, I didn't even know there was such a thing as a mucus plug. And I kept waiting for my water to break but the doctor broke it for me.
I feel you me too I'm so over being pregnant. My son needs to come out soon I don't think I can do another 4 weeks and 3 days of this.
You can go into labor without it coming out! You can even go into labor without your water breaking! My mom was about to have me and they had to break her water for me to come out!

Mine didn't come out before I went into labor. I think your water breaking and your contractions are more important
you can go into labor and not lose it. I didn't lose it until I was in labor
