What do you ladies do when your baby just won't settle but they don't need anything, she's not due a feed, her nappy is ok, she has been winded and is tired, she just won't let herself go off in her crib, it's like she's fighting it! She squirms about, I've given up swaddling her as it seems to annoy her even more she just struggles! I'm all out of ideas, I refuse to pick her out all the time and let her sleep on me as it doesn't work, you lay her back down and she wakes!

Try wrapping a t-shirt or something you have worn around the the mattress...so she will still be able to smell you xxx

@winterbaby95, oh i know she would rather be in my arms bless her, I'm just trying not to do it so as not to make a rod for my own back later down the line, she's 8 days old I'll just have to be patient, thanks Hun I'll try that with their shirt, the room is fine as we have a grow egg for temp xxx

Smell! I remember that...my son cried and cried if I wore perfume occasionally when he was a baby it took me ages to work out the problem as to why he was so upset it was because he couldn't smell me! lol Xxx

When Max was like this sometimes he'd still be fussing having a cuddle so I'd lay him back in his crib. I'd try his mobile which he sometimes liked. I also tried a dummy. Sometimes he takes it sometimes he doesn't. Max struggled with wind the first few weeks so think that's why he was unsettled. It was trial & error really trying different positions & comforters.

@sara-lou, yeah I keep trying different things lol I've tilted her next2me crib so she's not totally flat I've got two baby blankets under the bottom sheet rolled either side of her so she's snug, she's swaddled and I have a dummy to hand but she spits it out quite a lot. She did settle more last night after her midnight feed after I tilted crib so we'll see, if I think back the first 4 weeks with my son years ago I struggled on as he was like this, I co slept in the end which I'm trying not to do that's all. It's a time thing isn't it, by 4-6 weeks I bet she's settling better xxx
