Very emotional right now need some uplifting comments I guess.. my son just turned a month old on Saturday. He latched on great I was nursing great, I started pumping at 2 weeks was able to store a lot of milk. Pumped about 10 oz during one session every few hours. At 3 weeks I had mastitis on my left side. Felt very ill, high fever, terrible migraines and body aches. They gave me antibiotics a week later felt better. My supply dropped a ton. I could only pump 4 oz every few hours. I started drinking mothers milk tea also took fenugreek supplements to help boost my supply. It's been about a week and I thought I was slowly getting it back and I'm not still pumping about 3-4 oz every few hours. My son drinks about 6 oz at least at one sitting. I couldn't pump enough to fill his belly so I started giving him formula. I still continue to pump so I can give him breastmilk but I can only pump about 15 oz a day. His tummy started to become sensitive to formula so I've been giving him lactose sensitive formula I'll also be getting him gas drops to help his belly settle better. My mother Inlaw sounds like she understands my situations cause she's huge into breastfeeding but she thinks I'm giving him formula cause it seems to her that it's the easy way out when really it's the only way to fill my sons belly. She talks to me like I don't know what I'm doing by breastfeeding my son. It's stressful and frustrating.. I'm so emotional cause I wanna be able to breastfeed as long as I can but I don't know how much longer my supply will last. Help me feel better about this stressful situation ladies 😪❤️🙏🏻

sorry to hear that, try ground flax seed you can put it into baking , oatmeal , & smoothies it's a multi- item thing but it works wonders and you can find it in the vitamin area at any store keep your head up and try gripe water for your baby's tummy issues it helps so much, I hope things get better for you

@mamayoung, I would set a in home appt up with a lactation consultant most ins pays. My ins will give 5 visits and if your baby has health issues up to 12 visits call ur ins right away. Did u take a breastfeeding class? Also may I ask what's the need to pump? Do u return to work soon?

Yes I will be working again in a week or so, I started to store my milk cause I was so engorged I need to pump when he wasn't hungry. @txyogagirl

@mamayoung, I was taught in breastfeeding class the more u pump that sends a signal to ur body to produce more milk bc it thinks baby needs more milk. They also told us to wait at least one month before starting to pump. Obviously some moms can't do those thing bc schedules etc. I haven't even got my pump out my baby will be 7 weeks this week I cleaned it and everything at the one month mark but things were going good so I never felt the need bc I will be home. I'm a first time mom so I really don't know just sharing the knowledge I learned. I hope it all works out for u and baby bc I truly believe breast milk is so much better for the baby. Maybe contact insurance so u can get help from someone who really knows.

Yeah me too, the problem is I'm losing my supply I was pumping the perfect amount before so there's nothing wrong with the pumping @txyogagirl
