Only way any state will go after the other parent is if you don't share custody of the child. But they will for sure go after him if your receiving child care or any other type of government assistance

Eventually after about a year they will want him on his father's insurance. They won't let it stay that way for long. For a short time me and my boys were on and eventually they out them on spend down insurance and I had to start paying monthly to keep the Medicaid

I didn't say you were I was telling you I work my state service center. If you are not married they can't make the other parent take the child on medical unless your seeking child support or any other assistance but most of the time the employer insurance is to expensive for him to pick up for a child it won't make a difference.

May be different there but here they don't even ask about the dad, only time they go after dad (here) is if you're applying for cash assistance
