Most ppl do it the weekend after thanksgiving. I know we don't have all of our kids that weekend so we always put ours up the same weekend we celebrate my oldest sons birthday so ours will b up the weekend before Thanksgiving. Yes it's untraditional but I love having all the kids home together to decorate the tree
