Is it ok if I ask a few questions? ill be home educating my children..... although we teach our children things everyday as it is, its mandatory from next year...
Thank you! first of all I dont feel so alone... even if it is just you out of everyone on here so thankyou for replying.... all mine and my OH family were kind of against us doing it.... and didnt believe we could... but now they know we are serious they have to come to terms with it... So do you follow the school curriculum? or do it purely your own way - length of time/days? xx
I'd love to know more about this. I know in the US homeschooling is normal but in the UK it's so rare and for that reason seems so hard to do. I would like to know more so I could see if I would be capable of doing it.
Hi @noshinxoxo yes its very common in US.... but also I found the more I looked into it, theres more than you think in the UK its just not promoted... and the government is so corrupt they dont want to help you with it and would rather you send your children into the hands of strangers! me and my OH have looked properly into it.... and because all the people we know friends/family etc wasny really for it at first until they knew we were serious! we havnt got anyone to talk to about it as we dont know anyone personally... I believe anyone is capable of doing it, just a case of how much effort you want to put into your child... xx
Honestly your not alone! There are thousands of us 😊 I was worried about the leap at first...however, it was my mum that told me all about it. My son did reception and 1/2 of year 1 before I pulled him out. It was for no other reasons than I believed more flexibility would be better for him to be free to learn as he grows up and I could plan his education better! I decided to work and volunteer at the school to see how it worked day to day before making my final decision. He's doing brilliantly I think home ed is a lifestyle choice for a family and is the best decision I've ever made! The flexibility is the best for us to do and learn what and when we want to. The only two structures I have for my son is maths and english I do read the curriculum guidelines but never get stressed about them. My son loves maths and is doing well above his year group of which I feel school would of held him back. He's not so keen on English so I keep it more fun I enjoy the time I have to help him learn and support him. Do you have a facebook page? There are lots of groups I found and joined they are fab for any advice, questions ideas and group meetings. Xx

Of course you can, I've been home ed'ing for nearly 2 years and my son is 7 x
