Blessed that I still have my mom and that she helps me with the long late nights when Bella's daddy is working, but sometimes it makes me feel a little bad like I know being a first time mom (and to a 1 week and 4 days old baby at that) I'm not going to be getting the hang of everything right off the bat and I'm fully aware that I'm going to have rough days and nights (the past 48 hours have proven that) but anytime her dad or my mom do something for her willingly and happily (I.e. Take over a supplement feeding so I can get a little rest or a changing or a late night scream session so I can get a break) I feel like I should be the one doing it and feel kinda guilty

i am sure you have a slughtly controlling personality (not i n a negative way ) and try to do everything by yourself. notice that from other aspects of your life. just think about it this way. by letting your mom and husband help, allows them to contribute. @jennc100495

I'm the same way & I think @concrete is right about that for me too! Yesterday my husband stayed up with the baby for me because I was so sick and sleepy but I felt so guilt about it! This is my first baby too (my husband's second) & I feel like I must do all my baby's care all the time. When I need to leave my baby with my mother in law for work I get sad & guilty all at once xD. But I sincerely appreciate her too lol

@preemiemommy, you need to let people help. try to remember that your SO is his dad and has to participate and so do the grandparents. if you do everything yourself, you are denying them bonding time. i was teally bad with my first baby. my daughter didn't spend the night at her grandparents' till she was like 2. lol

Lol I've gotten better about it.. I won't lie the first few weeks home I was a baby hog lol @concrete

@concrete, You're totally right, I've just been trying to tell myself and remind myself that their helping isn't a bad thing and I shouldn't feel guilty about it, I definitely appreciate their helping because I know without them I'd probably be a wreck getting through these first few weeks and months, and I know their helping allows them to bond with her which I love, I just gotta stop being so hard on myself when they help

i think we are all the same, @jennc100495 @preemiemommy . we need help, but won't ask for it, when we get help, we feel useless, we don't want others to touch our babies, but we are exhausted. what a mess! lol
