I've noticed every time I have a scan, I seem to end up with a rash on my belly that itches like crazy, dunno whether I'm leaving the gel on by accident (as it's so damn difficult to get off and just seems to smear over the stomach rather than come off it). considering I have growth scans every two weeks, you can understand why this is annoying me, as soon as I get rid of one, another appears, anyone else had anything similar?

I have really sensitive skin and used to have a small reaction to the gel, I spoke to my midwife and asked if their was any alternative and she suggested that I take babywipes with me to my scans as I had regular scans too and just get the gel off as much as I could. It still reacted abit but it did limit it. Maybe speak to your midwife/consultant and see what they say? They may be able to suggest something x

@ginnyw132, good idea! I'm glad I'm not the only one though. I kind of assumed the gel was water based so it should be an issue, but as I'm not the only one, there must be something in it us with sensitive skin react to. :s x

I developed really sensitive skin when pregnant 2nd time. Shampoos and shower gels I'd always used I was suddenly reacting to. Maybe take some wet wipes with you and have a good clean whilst your there to try & get it all off. Then shower soon as your home maybe.
