My Birth Story:

Wednesday, October 19, 2016 I was scheduled for an induction. That day I woke up around 8am waiting to be called from the hospital to go in for the induction. Around 9am I finally got the call to come in. Alex and I dropped the two dogs off at the kennel and arrived at the hospital a little after 10am. After being admitted and given a room, I was induced with pitocin at 11am. I was already 4cm dilated and 80% effaced when arriving at the hospital. I progressed with the pitocin after an hour to about 6cm but still wasn't feeling any contractions, even though they were happening. So at 2pm they decided to go ahead and break my waters to get things moving faster. After 30 minutes, contractions definitely started to get stronger and I decided to go ahead and get the epidural. That was then administered to me and was a wonderful decision because the contractions had gotten a lot stronger very quickly. I began progressing even faster. After a couple more hours of waiting to dilate I was at 10cm around 5:30pm. My nurse helped me do some practice pushes and after getting my Dr's approval I began pushing. After 4 rounds of 3 pushes my nurse decided to call in my doctor to deliver. At 6:12pm October 19, 2016 our sweet girl Edith Mae entered the world and I can't even explain how amazing that experience was seeing her for the first time. ❤️
