they are already assembled all you have to do is get it unfolded

I'm pretty sure you don't need any tools.       We bought (and then returned) one on vacation and my husband had it together in minutes.   I will say,  click the sides before you push the bottom down. It's a little tricky. Other than that you should be fine.
