I need advice from moms with their husbands in the military. Dave and I just talked about him going into the navy possibly. This is something he's always wanted to do and he thinks it would be the best thing for our family considering our situation. I support him 110%. He said he would put me in a one bedroom apartment while he's away training and stuff like that. I just need advice on how it is. Like how do you girls do it? He's waiting till after Travis's 1st birthday. Like I said , I fully support him, just really sucks thinking about not being with him everyday and be away from each other ..

It's hard! Having to share your husband sucks but because of the military we are able to give my son everything he needs

My husband went into the Army when my daughter was 3 months old. it was the best decision for our family. our financial situation has benefited from it since he has a stable job now, we have good health insurance since he's active duty, and I am able to stay home with the kids. yes it's going to be hard, being away from eachother is really hard but the time away goes by really fast. I don't regret our decision one bit. it's also hard being away from family since we now live across the country from them but the pros still out weigh the cons. I would go with him to the recruiters and try to be involved in the process and be aware of his job choice and all of that. for me I wanted to agree on my husbands job since I didn't want him in infantry, luckily my husband scored very high on the asvab and got a job that is almost considered non deployable. you can pm me if you wanna talk more, I do have navy friends that I can ask if you have any navy specific questions since my husband is army. wish you guys luck!

@kmharr3, thank you! I know it's gonna be hard. But I really is the best decision. We'll be able to get a house. Better car. Better future for our son. And if that means going through months of training and then moves and what not ...then so be it. And we talked about me going to talk to the recruiter with hiM so I can be on the same page and be in it together.
