This isn't baby related but Ladies who have had a wedding I have a few questions for you- how much…

My wedding (venue, dress, shoes, suits & bridesmaids stuff) cost about £15000 in total. Venue was £7000 which included meal, dj, evening buffet, and use of rooms. I don't regret spending that money as we tried to keep it to a minimum where we could. The fact the venue was all inclusive was a bonus xxx a lot of people now don't bother getting married as effectively it is just a piece of paper & a ring but i believe it gives you more rights if something happens to one of you (don't quote me on that!)

@natroberts88, that seems like so much money 😭 one of my close friends and bridesmaid has already blown 20 grand and it's not until 2018 luckily daddy has paid for 99% of it but we don't have that privilege only my savings I have that I've kept how did you manage to pay for that all if you don't mind me asking x

This is exactly why we don't wanna get married! We have a baby together, we live together and we adore and love each other. No ring on my finger is gonna make any difference, it'll go towards a mortgage deposit instead xxx

@holliesinead, mine and hubbys wedding started to price up over £10,000 so we had a talk.. we decided that the wedding was for us and no one else.. we decided on getting married abroad with no friends or family.. 2 weeks in Lake Garda Italy, getting married in a castle with all legal stuff covered.. we had a week holiday, got married then a weeks honeymoon.. cost us £3500 and i dont regret any of it.. once home we threw a reception party and did a little ceremony at the start so my dad got to walk me up the aisle.. best decision we ever made xx

@gilbs_xo, I feel like we're only getting married for everyone else I did have a deposit on somewhere but I've taken it off now because not only are we having a shit patch at the moment it's also a LOT of money for one day xx

Not sure how much me and my husband spent but I know it wasn't more than £2000, we only had close family and couple of friends (only about 34 people including us), I went dress shopping but then found the same dress online for cheaper so saved myself a lot of money on that too, we done most of the dress suit shopping etc online and for reception we had a buffet which cost us £20 per person and children were free, my sister paid for photographer as a gift, it was very simple and quite, then we just spent the night at a hotel xx

@Holliesinead aww no babe I'm sorry to hear that! Babies put such a huuuuge strain on a relationship, hopefully you'll come out 10x stronger like us. I just think as long as you're happy as you are then why spend all that money on a day for a piece of paper and a ring. Things can fuck up unmarried or married and at the same time everything can be perfect and you'll spend your whole lives together, married or unmarried. It's whatever the pair of you want to do, just don't do anything just to make everyone else happy. It's down to you and your partner xxz

If you don't want to spend a load of money then don't. Once you get in the frame of mind that getting married is about the 2 of you its much easier to plan what you truly want. Forget everyone else. We had a very small ceremony. But I did want a big party so we spent next to nothing actually getting married. It mostly went on the reception venue. We made things ourselves and bought things off amazon to save money where we could. We only invited immediate family to the ceremony but everyone else in the evening. But if you want something small then have something small 😊

We didn't set a budget we just paid for things we as went. We booked our wedding 10months before so we didn't even have a year to plan but when you put your mind to it it doesn't have to cost the world. It was an amazing day & I'd do it all again!

I was looking into weddings :) You can save a lot of money by not getting married in peak season....getting married on a weekday instead of the weekend (weekends cost considerably a lot more) You can have a registry wedding...or if church is more your style..go for that hun :) Weddings dont have to cost a lot...remember the day is about you and your partner...no one else...please yourself...dont do things for other people :) Don't do something...just because someone else has done it :) I went to a wedding a few years back...it was my mums friends son getting married...they had a church wedding...and then the reception was at the mums house in the country side...they had a Marquee :) Lots of cakes instead of one big wedding cake..and at night time...we let off those lanterns (like a scene from Tangled) it was beautiful :) xxx

Ours cost about £20000 but only because the venue was expensive but so stunning and I'd wanted to get married there for as long as I can remember! Our engagement was only 3 months and my hubby planned the whole thing apart from the dresses as I was pregnant and he didn't want me to stress! It was the most perfect day and I wouldn't change anything xx

I've always wanted to get married since a little girl but now I've got a baby priorities have changed so much I used to drive a nice car, go on holiday every few months buy designer clothes now none of that matters and I kind of feel like that about a marriage now and also I have a massive family so if I invite one cousin I have to invite the rest and the list goes on and on we did want to do vegas or abroad but my grandad who is VERY special to me has Parkinson's and wouldn't be able to go and he's the main person I want to be there and see me get married @mrsmowmow @sara-lou @winterbaby95 @gilbs_xo @tg123456789 @rosie2013 @barnold @natroberts88

At the end of the day it's what you both want in life. What does marriage mean for you. For me it was about becoming a family. We'd had Morgan & I wanted to take my husbands name. Has it changed our relationship? No. Only legally lol. If marriage isn't your priority then that's fine. But if you do want to get married down the line. It doesn't have to cost a fortune. I have a huge family & couldn't afford a huge wedding. People understand that and if they didn't then well I wouldn't consider them family or friends.

I regret all the time and nerves spent, dh wanted to be involves in every little thing but was to lazy to actually do it, which wasn't exactly a relaxing atmosphere to try and get things done. we did more in the last 2 weeks (the night before the wedding included) than in the 6 months we were planning it. still gutted that I didn't get a good night sleep and had bags under my eyes :)
