FTM....So I know there is a lot of controversy regarding giving your child Tylenol before their shots because it reduces the vaccines effectiveness. But has anyone done it? My sister always did and my nieces are absolutely fine. Does it actually help the baby? Its like beating the pain to the punch but I want to allow her body to build up the nature way to fend off illness. Any advice or experience with either giving Tylenol or holding off til after?

I actually held off and my daughter usually just sleeps it off she's only got a mild fever once but fevers are good because they are fighting it off so I think it's best to hold off unless you personally feel like you should give it to your baby, which there's nothing wrong with that either 🙂

@mrscruz0530, thank you for your input. I think I am going to hold off so I can allow her body to react naturally the way it needs too. But of course, if she gets a fever or is just inconsolable, I will more than likely give her some then. I am just so nervous 😣😣😣

I never gave my son Tylenol except once when he was very uncomfortable with a fever from the shots . I honestly don't think it's necessary to give it before because sometimes they are completely fine so you would be giving Tylenol for nothing

@mamahoude, that is exactly my reasoning. i don't want to give it to her unless i absolutely have to.
