been giving my baby boy some apple juice every day since he started solids.
He is 4 months old, and does great with the food and juice. it says on scale to start with 1 oz a day and gradually increase... but he always wants more after the ounce is gone.
any suggestions?
I have to agree with @queen_b15, she's absolutely right. Doctor didn't give the ok for juice for my son until his 6 month appointment and even then I was told to not exceed over an ounce of water per day. I understand that every child is different though so just be cautious. 4 months is pretty early to start with juice but don't exceed the recommended amount that your doctor told you because there is a big risk of water intoxication ❤️
It's still not safe though due to their guys being open. A lot of Peds are using outdated information still. Water is definitely not recommended due to water intoxication. I wouldn't be saying anything if it hadn't happened to one of my friends. It was really scary and it wasn't something that I thought could be harmful until then.
yeah I understand that everyone is going to do things differently with their baby. mine got the okay from his pediatrician to start solids and juice. @queen_b15
Babies really don't need anything outside formula or breastmilk for at least 6 months.
I read you could do an ounce for the months the baby is, so for your baby it would be 4 ounces a day, but of course always make sure his pediatrician gives you the okay 👌 its said to help with constipation
