It is a bit overwhelming at the beginning but believe me u will love the skill once u get it. Utube has some beginner vids that start out slow, I recommend that. And, start with a larger hook and not so soft yarn so u can see the stitch good.
Oh go to walmart or online for a crochet beginner book so u can understand the verbiage. It will help u understand what a slip knot, single and double crochet means. And how to count the slip stitches. U can ask me questions anytime u feel the need.
