My milk hasn't came in yet but I'm supplementing... formula & I let him suck for at least 15 mins 5 from 1 side 10 the other or whatever no longer than 20 mins... his stool looks like this. Does that mean he's getting colostrum? Or?? He's 2 days old now
Girl I'm just thirsty 😂😂😂 I know when they get engorged they're no joke but the pain isn't that bad... feels better when they suck or you pump
Ok I'm going to follow you... that's what I'm waiting on tho girl I love nursing but I'm ready to pump & store my milk you know? My first son really didn't care too much for tests feeding but this baby is thats what makes me so interested & eager to have my supply already. & maybe that's what it is he's cluster feeding but when I squeeze my nipples nothing comes out so that's why I'm curious to what he's getting 🤔 @cubanese
Taking y'all advice right now! He was drinking the ready to feed.. & you're right @housfullofgrls he's just been so damn hungry & im starting now no more formula .. by his output I'll know if he's eating? Or getting enough? @cubanese & the lactation person talked to me but she didn't tell me this part of what u guys are telling me
Yup get rid of the formula, he's supposed to nurse all the time to build up your supply. Formula will only stretch out his stomach and make him hungrier than he's supposed to be
Because I feel like I'm starving him @cubanese I REALLY DONT like using it.. but he's taking both 😐 @housfullofgrls so is that how the stool looks w the formula & colostrum together? Or just formula? & every time it's time for him to eat injures him for about 15 mins before giving him formula he latched perfectly @klove2016
I would keep nursing on demand or every 2 hours. The more he nurses, the sooner your milk will come in.. mine came in exactly 4 days after having my baby
Yeah that's great keep nursing that's the only thing that's going to bring your milk in
Everything @cubanese has said is dead on! Feed on demand! Your supply will come in! Your baby's stool looks great! Means baby is getting the right nutrients. My baby will be 12 weeks on Sunday and is still exclusively breast milk so he still has seedy yellowish to greenish stools. I didn't start pumping until 3-4 weeks old and I only pumped once a day. I have an over supply though so he would eat and I still get 6-9 ounces on average. I have over 4 gallon size bags of milk frozen and go back to work on Monday. Just trust your body and trust your baby's cues. They want to eat a ton the first couple of months. If you are trying to self express some, make sure you massage your breast first then make sure you are cupping your breast with your hand in the shape of a U either over the top or under and then pull back toward your body then squeeze. Repeat a couple times. Again, just trust nature will take care of your body so you can take care of your baby! Good luck momma!
