that can happen with any iud, but I've never had it happen to me. just make sure you check your strings every few weeks/month. I had the Mirena for 2 years before having it removed to conceive my first child, then I had the paragaurd for a year before we decided to conceive our second child (I didn't think we would be ready so soon). I'm currently pregnant now, but I honestly loved the iud and it worked really well for me, but everyone is different @mdomke22
I'm thinking about the paraguard! how long have you been using it @kmharr3? I need a more permanent solution after this baby but I'm so nervous because ppl said there's has fallen out or gotten lost in the uterus. ugh
I had the Mirena, i liked the concept of the iud but I didn't like the Mirena the hormones made me crazy and it made my periods heavier. I preferred the paragaurd which is the copper one without any hormones, however that one made my periods longer but I really didn't mind. both are great since they last a long time
I had the Paraguard and honestly had nothing but problems with it. it made sex super uncomfortable and hurt like a bitch. made periods horrible and long. and then when I had my check up it was half way out and I had to get a pregnancy test which made me super stressed out bc I don't want another baby right now. but I did like that it lasted so long before having to go replaced. I ended up not getting it back tho . I'm off birth control and only using condoms. I like it much better this way. tryed pretty much all birth control and either got sick or it didn't work
good luck!
