why do you have to keep them in a crate at night? I would whine to @kelcyfreese

@arose28, kennels are like "safe spots" for doggies. They also help tremendously with potty training. We crate trained our Great Dane when he was a puppy. Try putting a blanket over it. That helped with our guy.

I'm not saying that it is a bad thing. I also crate trained my dogs but only when we leave the house...@kelcyfreese, @mommaofgirls @halsey11 your saying the dog has separation anxiety...let's make it worse and keep him locked up while he can still hear and smell us there. I just don't think it right to keep a dog in a crate when your home. if your worried about accidents at night then get up and take him out.. I still have to do it for my dogs and they are 1 and 3 years old fully potty trained.

try putting an old shirt that smells like u or whoever she is more attached too.

@arose28, I feel like if you don't know the story or my life you shouldn't be so negative to comment. But with pet posts there's always someone. So let me tell you that my other dog LOVES his crate. It is his safe spot and the door is always open except for a night because he isn't potty trained. My other dog however is but with separation anxiety she tends to tear things up, eat stuff, etc. So I put her in there to keep her safe from swallowing anything or chewing on cords, etc. And I'm not going to let one dog sleep in the bed with us and one not. I also have absolutely no problem taking them out at night. People do things differently and that's okay, but if you're going to be rude about it I just wouldn't say anything at all. I asked for help, not criticism.
