It's where you weigh them before s feed then right after and transfer the amount of weight gained. My lactation consultants told me today that when using pumped milk it's normal for a baby to eat about an ounce even at several months old. (When working you only need one ounce for every hour away) Most people overfeed with expressed breast milk which is why they recommend paced feedings. It's where the baby is upright and the bottle is parallel to the ground. Don't worry about air, they'll get air from a bottle period but it'll help to mimic the breast so they don't need as much.
No problem. I've learned a lot from the local breastfeeding support group and la leche league meetings so it's nice to pass the info down. Kellymom.com has great info on everything breastfeeding related as well

Formula or breast? I did a weighted feed and my baby takes about 1.2 oz each feeding.
