quick question girls. is this what mucus plug looks? I have no idea :-/ (picture in comments)

If u haven't had sex recently then this can be bits of it, mine had been like egg white mucus and a big thicker like a blob of light green snot that was quite thick and gloopy. I have been getting bits each day now since fri.

it's all thick and gluey a bit like jelly, doesn't look like discharge :-/ never had anything like that before so I'm not sure. x

U can get egg white mucus later on due to increase in oestrogen. Similar to when u ovulate but if u have a lot of it and it is like thicker it can be shedding from the cervix. I do have this discharge plus I have balls of very very thick that is like semi dried glue as well.

OK so shall I just keep an eye on it? do I need to tell the midwife or anything? or is that just if there's blood? x

@baby301016, that is your mucus yes,you have had your show now. I had the same last Sundays never saw something like that before on myself. I called the midwife and she confirmed. This Sunday I had my bloody show,the same discharge with tiny bits of blood in it. Not necessary to have blood in your mucus this is what midwife from triage told me

No you don't need to tell anyone u can keep shedding it for weeks from my experience and I have since fri and saw the midwife today

If u get a full on true bloody show then u can do, mine with my son was 6 hours before I had him but was the length of a maternity pad and about half inch thick and like really thick snot with blood in it.

it is a sign that your getting ready at 37 weeks its unlikely to regenerate, mine went at 36 +3 i had my bloody show 4 days later and contractions started 6 hours later at 8pm and baby was born at 2am so id take it as a good sign. This was number 4 for me and they all started with a bloody show after a mucus plug was lost. Good luck x
